Today we start a new project at the IDB: a blog to discuss and learn about open knowledge and its impact on the development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
For many, this topic is somewhat confusing, because it is new and multifaceted. We will talk about open data (Open Data), open access (Open Access) and open government (Open Government) , as well as the advances of Massive Open Online Courses or MOOCs , and how they can help us find solutions to the development of our countries, like those we saw in Demand Solutions .
Whether they are the most lucid writers on open knowledge or others who are less experts but interested in contributing to the debate, we hope you will join us in exchanging ideas, experiences and opinions. Benidorm brings together more than a hundred participants in the Engel & Völkers Golf Tournament , a competition held in Finestrat at the Meliá Villaitana Golf Club. Good shots, fun and a spring day to welcome the first edition of the Tournament.
The event exceeded initial expectations in registrations, which according to the organization closed with 92 participants. They were joined by other people from the economic and social sector of the Marina Baixa and Alicante, who gathered to learn first-hand about the outcome of the tournament, as well as its subsequent awards party.
The golfers showed off their skills along the 18-hole course of Golf Villaitana for several hours, producing numerous interesting plays and close finishes on the green. Finally, in the first category the winner was Darren Greaves, followed by Christopher Ward. In the second category, José Juan Beviá took first place, with Filionis August as second. For his part, Gonzalo Gironés won the Scratch classification. The tournament ended with a cocktail for all participants, live music, and some surprises, followed by the presentation of prizes to the winners. Among them the “AMAYA Jewelry Award” , for the longest drive on holes 10 and 16. Among the attending sponsors, AMAYA JOYEROS , we also did not want to miss this tournament, due to our great relationship with Engels & Völkers and because of our love of golf, a sport that we are passionate about and that must be encouraged so that people know and practice it.
